Gill Blanchard
Gill Blanchard Genealogist and House Historian, Author & Tutor.
Gill is a full time historical researcher and author with an academic background in History, Sociology and Politics at Degree and Postgraduate Degree level.
She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Post Compulsory Education), which qualifies her to teach adults. She was awarded a second MA with Merit in Biography and Creative Non Fiction by the University of East Anglia.
Gill has been conducting family, house and local history research on a full time professional basis since 1992, setting up her own research company in 1997. She is a full member of Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA)
Gill is widely recognised as a leading Family and House Historian and has featured widely in local press, national family history magazines and blogs, and appeared on various local radio shows as an expert and educator in the field. She has an extensive list of clients authors, academics, journalists and television producers. She has been a researcher for BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? and appeared on the Mary Berry episode in 2014 and the Jonnie Peacock episode in 2018.
As a qualified teacher of adults, Gill has given talks and run courses and workshops on family history and house history research at all levels from beginners to post-graduate locally, nationally and online.
